Ding Dong Ditch

A rainy night out on the roads
The high beams catch the frogs and toads
A simple swerve made to the right keeps them alive another night
Some say not far from here's the place that airplane crashed without a trace
Engines heard coughing then no sound
Until it smashed into the ground

Before the wake, go kick the snake, the worms will follow…
Into the ground
Bury the bodies

The ding dong deer out of the ditch
Into the light their eyes were fixed
The hen she crossed just like a joke
So literal that no one spoke
As apples fall about our feet
The geese make sauce with just their beaks
We crossed our legs and settled down
And shoved that style into the ground

Before the wake, go kick the snake, the worms will follow…
Into the ground
Bury the bodies

Out this way many years ago
The black and white whales roamed this cove
They wore tuxedo's in the sea
And filled the old mans eyes with green
By his old 'copter and his boat
He chased ‘em down and made ’em float
Straight pulled them up and out the sound
And pushed their hearts into the ground

Before the wake, go kick the snake, the worms will follow…
Into the ground
Bury the bodies
